In advertisement yes. Just like how Microsoft advertises crap on the Spotlight channel. Home hardly does anything for gamers like me who want to socialize AND play multiplayer games at the same time.
Big difference between ads in Home and the ads that appear on your Xbox360 dashboard. Home is a FREE application offering multiplayer games, and other features similar to other popular online virtual social worlds, and just like many other FREE MMO type applications they get their money from advertisements. But the ads on the XBox360 dashboard are not just in the Spotlight, but in EVERY tab that isn't "My Xbox" or "Friends". Even if you have Xbox Live Gold, you will still have these ads on your dashboard. Nestea, Mazda Protege, Discovery Channel's "Life" video, Digiorno videos, and etc are thrown into your dashboard, sometimes you'll see the SAME AD IN MORE THAN ONE PLACE. I fucking hate it. I make nearly $600 a month from ads on my Youtube videos, how much do you think Microsoft makes? And then they STILL WANT TO CHARGE YOU FOR FEATURES!? I'm sorry, but those ads on the dashboard are one of my biggest complaints, and that ad revenue is more than enough to pay for those features. Home ads =/= Dashboard ads

The ads NEVER bothered me on the dash. If they bother you, you can set it up to where everytime you turn on your Xbox it automatically plays the disc that's inside the tray. Besides, It's not like youtube where they are forcing you to watch them before watching the featured video. Bringing up advertisements as a complaint makes me laugh big time.

And to be honest, it's funny how you guys make it seem like the subscription fee is the only major difference between the services. I mean I know you guys understand some of the differences between XBL and PSN, but you constantly make understatements about the significance of those "small features". UI functionality to me is more of an important topic to debate about rather than which service would save me a couple of bucks.

This is why XBL is awesome:

- Almost everything PSN's Qore service has (Qore is $24.99 /year), including some exclusive demos before anyone else, BETA invites, developer interviews, game interviews, etc.

- Xbox Live Party System and Cross Game Chat

- Up to 4 user accounts signed into XBL on the same Xbox

- Voice Messaging

- Universal Game Invites and the ability to send them to multiple people at the same time using the Party system

- Custom Playlists/Music in EVERY GAME

- Ingame Windows Live Messenger

- Reputation system

- Background Downloads (That actually allow you to do stuff without the download stopping)

- Full Facebook and Twitter integration

- Better Organized Friendslist

- Last F.M.

- Zune Marketplace with 1080p movie streaming.

- And usually, the online multiplayer is a bit smoother on the X360 than it's PS3 counterpart. Don't ask me why, it could be a number of reasons. (Maybe since more PS3 users use Wi-fi and wi-fi is bad for online games that use P2P connections, or maybe it's because the X360 is the lead platform for many multiplayer games.)

The Xbox integrated version of Facebook and Twitter have exclusive features over the internet browser ones.

You can do things like directly attach screenshots to your Facebook page.

I'm just saying it's integrated into the service. Like custom soundtracks.

Okay, I wouldn't know about PSN's facebook features. But regardless of those, did you even READ my list? I was trying to prove a point.

yeah, but you need a computer to use it. so if your already have a computer, why not jsut use the computer? the same can be said for the PS3 browser, but its there at the press of a button. the WEC browser requises you to open the application on your computer, open the application on your xbox, wait for them to load, and then your on the internet. And how is the browser not intergrated with the UI. you go the icon that says internet browers or the serch button, and your on the internet. and not everything is intergrated with the dashboard. it takes me forever to find my XBLA games and launch them. same with my music. on my PS3, i just scroll down, and bam, there they are.

STOP SUPER QUOTING GUYS.
Sheesh. If you could, tone it DOWN. That's why it's an edit button. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

PSN has:

Party chat.

You can do BackGround Downloads on Psn. This is so ignorant, everyone says this.
I can play inFamous, Mushroom Wars, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Sonic's Sega Genesis Collection, Castle Crashers, GTAIV. You can't play games online while downloading in the background.
____

???
Better organized friendlist? Just see who's online. He's on, he's off, alphabetical order. That's it.
What else?

Online is a bit smoother? You're making no sense truthfully.
Lead platform? So does it matter that some reviewers show MOH footage on 360 cause it's the leading platform? Huh.

Up to 4 user accounts? Explain.

The background downloads on PSN aren't as flexible as XBL. You can hardly do anything while a demo/psn game is downloading. On XBL, there are even some multiplayer games you can play while your background is downloading.

The friendslist can be organized to your preference. It's also goes into detail on what your friends are playing/doing. On PSN, it will just tell you what game they are playing. On XBL, using MW2 for example, it tells you what mode you are playing and which map.

Don't insult me, I know what I'm talking about Rolling Eyes . Online multiplayer on multiplatform games generally run smoother on the X360. I think it has to do with the fact that most PS3 users use Wi-fi connections which is not ideal for P2P servers, but I'm not 100% on that....Even MOH is less laggy while being played on the X360.

You can have up to 4 Xbox Live accounts signed in onto one console, one for each controller. So your friends can come over and recover their gamertags and then use those gamertags while playing Halo Reach online split-screen with you for example.

EDIT:

PSN does not have "party chat". It has a text chat system, but that's no where close to what the XBL party system lets you do. In addition to XGC, you can send an invite to all your friends in the party to join your game.

The friendslist can be organized to your preference. It's also goes into detail on what your friends are playing/doing. On PSN, it will just tell you what game they are playing. On XBL, using MW2 for example, it tells you what mode you are playing and which map.

PSN does that to.

If I remember correctly, all it does is tell you what game they are playing.

You're basically saying, "Yeah that's cake, but our cake is better, so it's not really cake."

Am I hitting in the ballpark? Cause this sounds familiar....

So wait Alan, you're making online connection claims that you admit, you don't know 100%? This looks REALLY bad. Insult? This is just games.

You think everyone uses Wi-fi dude? No. It runs smoother based on the hosts connection, period.

Back to the point, you can still do Background Downloads.
If we're shifting rules, then I can say 360 is cheating cause it uses 2 discs on certain games or the PC/360 games don't count..*yada*

But i'm not the F word. Laughing

EDIT:

Yeah, on most new games now, it tells you.
Like, if I was playing SSFIV, it would say:
Super Street Fighter IV: Versus Mode [REQ:OFF] (or something like that.)
Same for MW2, Castle Crashers, Dante's Inferno.

What the hell is the first half of the post about? Cake? I never said PSN was a crap service. That "PSN chat" you mention is not a party system. It's more like an instant messaging system, am I lying and or manipulating the truth? You seriously need to stop assuming that I'm just some wild X360 fanboy trying to make the PS3 look bad.

I'm trying to be as fair and unbaised as possible. Use common sense. Most PS3s, unlike most Xboxes, come built in with wi-fi. I can safely say that most PS3 owners use the wi-fi for online gaming considering the fact that PS3s don't come with ethernet cables. P2P connections are based off of host consoles acting as the servers. Your connection to the game depends on THEIR connection as well. A wi-fi connection, in the best conditions, would still not be as good as a wired connection for hosting. This is a logical explanation as to why its more common to experience some lag on multiplatform multiplayer games on the PS3. This was if and only if both PSN/XBL are equally as friendly to P2P connections. I'm sure they are to an extent, but I'm open minded to the fact that it may be for a different reason.

Dude....You can BARELY do ANYTHING with background downloads on PS3. I have no idea why you keep trying to argue otherwise. There are very few games where you can actually do anything. Compared to XBL which pretty much supports Background Downloads with most if not all single player games and some multiplayer games.

If you are just scavaging for small, random, and negligible loop holes in my arguement, then I will not reply any longer. My main point still stands. There are very valid reasons why people think XBL is worth it for PSN. Considering the fact that you probably didn't know about half the stuff I mentioned, I think I did my job.

Next topic.

Alan, you can do a lot of things while backround downloading on PS3 Facepalm

You shouldn't debate on XBL vs. PSN if you don't own a PS3 -_-
