Microsoft defends Kinect pricing
I don't care for either move or Kinect so No comment but it gives good points.

I can't believe people are going to pay for that piece of shit. The only thing I even remotely want to use it for is video chat.

Re: Microsoft defends Kinect pricing
We're all in agreement that PS Eye is superior, no? And that's what, thirty dollars? Move is taking Kinect a step further technologically. I'm not paying $150 for a half-decent camera and a free, gimmicky game.
Re: Microsoft defends Kinect pricing
Well it makes sense. I mean for how much you actually are gonna spend on Move (believe me I did the math a long time ago) this is the cheaper option.

If you were to get Kinect, and a Move/Sub, and the equal amount of games, you're telling me that Kinect is cheaper.
Re: Microsoft defends Kinect pricing
Regardless of the price you have to look at functionality and it's abysmal. They showed the harry potter demo for Kinect and the character move themselves. You just stand their and wave you hand. You don't even aim.
This is way beyond casual gaming. Not even the Wii is this bad. What a terrible investment MS is doing and it's a complete slap in the face for the 42 million fanbase that made 360 a success.

You're Kendo... We don't take you seriously.
I think he means that if you just buy Move and Kinect without any games, Kinect would be cheaper.
Re: Microsoft defends Kinect pricing
Actually both come with games. Think about it like this you buy Kinect which is 150 dollars and comes with a game, then you buy the PS Move bundle which comes with the Playstation Eye and one Move plus one game thats 100 dollars. But some minigames in that one game (Move Champions) use two PS Moves so you have to go buy another one, thats another 50 dollars, which comes to around the same price as Kinect. But then what about the Nunchuk-like thing, so in something like say a Lego Harry Potter game you can move your character (without a dualshock 3 in one hand which would be uncomfortable), thats another 20 dollars. So overall you spent 170 bucks just for the single player aspect. If we were to go to the multiplayer aspect you can see another big difference.Angelus the Wraith wrote:Kendo wrote:Well it makes sense. Not saying you have to buy more games, because games will always be expensive, just looking at the tech itself and looking at the long term aspect of it, just like some people like to say the PS3 is cheaper than the 360 (which if I am wrong about Kinect being cheaper than Move, then whoever says the PS3 is cheaper than the 360 is wrong).

Now is TWO move controllers. We're not comparing Two Moves and Kinect.
Just Move/Sub Vs. Kinect and both have the equal amount of games.
LMAO.
Re: Microsoft defends Kinect pricing
It's a hard comparison to make. On one hand, you're right, it's only fair to compare one unit to another unit. On the other hand, Kinect handles up to two players with one unit, so it's also only fair to compare maximum players to maximum players.Zillah wrote:Now is TWO move controllers. Ultimately there's no way make a real comparison, since the only fair price comparisons are based on what suits the individual best. I only see myself spending $100 on the Move Sports bundle and nothing more since I'm only going to use Move for on-rails shooters, so for me, Move is cheaper than Kinect (and also isn't a total piece of crap - this you CANNOT deny).
