Does Mass Effect 2 on PS3 need Mass Effect 1 to be a success
I personally don't care if both come out on ps3. I'm still getting Mass Effect 2.

I played ME1 and I can say, ME2 is 90000000000000000x better.
I know you can improve on sequels but the improvements on this game were evident.

Its not that ME 2 is better. Its just when you play ME 1 you can import all of your decisions and choices into ME 2. It makes it kinda unique. Did you kill or save that person in ME1? If you saved him then he will make an apperence in ME 2. Thats why the Mass Effect series is so unique. Whatever decisions you make in the first carry over to the second.

Me, personally, I could give two fucks about story. That does make it a great, one big game.
However, the fun factor, ME2 shits all over it.

You dont give two fucks about the story, then its the wrong game for you. Stick to FPS's then.

I still liked the game, the action was amazing. I don't play games for story. I play games for what they were originally made for, just fun.
Sometimes competing. But besides that, fun.
I will play FPS's cause I don't sit and play games 100000 times cause the story was good.
Re: Does Mass Effect 2 on PS3 need Mass Effect 1 to be a success
Well then you need to understand that most people play Mass Effect for the story. It's arguably the biggest aspect of the game. Therefore, most people are going to get a better, more complete experience playing ME on the 360. Will the PS3 experience be good? Hell yeah, but it's not going to match up to the 360 experience.Zillah wrote:xSTONEYx187x wrote:

I never said anything about other people. I said me personally.
But I don't need to play cause I don't play for story?

Re: Does Mass Effect 2 on PS3 need Mass Effect 1 to be a success
You can still play it, and you have your reasons for liking it, but the mass appeal of the game is the story. Without ME1, ME2 won't be a huge success on the PS3. It'll do fairly well, but not nearly as well as the 360 version.Zillah wrote:^

BIOWARE AND MASS EFFECT IS KNOWN FOR NARRATIVE AND IF ZILLAH WANTS TO BE A TOTAL DICK AND IGNORE THE STORY THEN LEAVE HIM ALONE

Some of the people on 360 who wants MGS4 to come to 360 never played the first three because the game on it's own right is good. While ME1's save transport is a great feature is no way a deal breaker because ME2 on it's own right is a great game.

And MGS is just as story driven. Amirite or Amirite?

Agreed, it's not the end of the world if PS3 owners don't get that save feature from ME1. They are getting an intro from ME1 to ME2, so they won't be completely lost.

It's not that they were working for Microsoft, but Microsoft basically paid them to not work for Sony. Or something like that.nextgen4life wrote:no you don't have to have me1 i am just happy that all the company who where working just for Microsoft are coming to ps3 yay!!

I think its stupid that they didnt import ME1 with 2. I know Microsoft published it but thats dumb to port the second without the first. And this way you cant import your character from ME1.

Why would someone who never played Mass Effect want to import a character they never created?

Cause it's just a GAME.
Can you play a game JUST for a game?
