PS3: The console for JRPG's?

And on that topic it doesn't really matter because Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, (not sure about IX) Gran Turismo 4, and a few others were on the PC but they are still considered Playstation exclusives by almost everyone.

And yeah Playstation wins in JRPGs. So unless Mistwalker's next game is amazing like it should (because Mistwalker is a supposed "dream team") that won't change. However personally I believe that without the king of JRPGs, Shin Megami Tensei, no platform is the one for JRPGs. The DS is king for JRPGs, the 360 and PS3 can suck it.

This isn't the console war here, console war is for fanboys.

I hate when people exclude PC from everything. PC is the most superior system out there.

And this year is going to be a good 'battle' between Microsoft and Sony. :sleep:

I'm talking about this gen, and the PSP merely has SMT ports. The DS actually gets new SMT games. Mass Effect is what you call an action RPG. Do you want it to have some numbers popping up when you attack someone or have the generic turn based, ATB, field changing combat?

The DS is king because it has better JRPGs than any other system out this gen. It has Shin Megami Tensei, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, The World End's With You, Fire Emblem, Dragon Quests, and a bunch of one shots.

It doesn't matter if it's not exclusive because Mass Effect is one of the best RPGs out there. ME2 got a fricking 96 on metacritic. If you're only buying one system then you still miss out on a lot of games. If you get a PS3 you're missing out on Mass Effect and Fable, if you get a 360 you miss out on Kingdom Hearts 3 and Demons Soul's, if you get a DS you are missing out on Elder Scrolls and Bioshock, etc.

And I didn't use multiquote because I just got a big cramped up pile of text than I didn't feel like separating.

If I get a PS3 and I have a PC I'm not missing out on anything.

The only Xbox 360 game i'm really missing out is Gears of War. But Uncharted makes up for it. As for Mass Effect i rather play that on a good PC.

Hardly. Yes, they're both third-person shooters with cover systems, but Gears has a MUCH "stickier" cover system.

I don't think PS3 is the console for JRPGs, except in Japan.

I didn't read the part at the beginning of the OP where you say that PSone and PS2 games count. I think the PS3 library lacks JRPGs, but the Playstation brand is full of JRPGs.

You can state the Xbox & Xbox Arcade JRPG's if you like.
