The Official NGP/PSP2 Thread

ok, well let's start by saying that "NGP" isn't the official name but a codename (it stands for Next Generation Portable), and it just got officialy annonced at the 2011 PlayStation Meeting.

Technical Specification :



so it looks very powerfull, and Epic Games stated that it's "4 times as powerful as any other handheld", and most developers agree that it's Developer-friendly.

Hardware :

The machine have two analog stick (kaz hirai said that this was the most requested option), an OLED touch screen, a touchpad at the back of the console, it have built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microphone, gyroscope and accelerometer, a Front camera and a Rear camera. the ngp have no UMD but it have what's called next game media (don't know if it's the defenitive name, I hope not) a kind of SD card.



The Interface :

Sony has abandoned the XMB, and got replaced with "LiveArea" (considering it got a touch screen, this seems better), In a menu consisting of bubbles you can access to everything faster: Your Games, the PlayStation Store, the Web Browser, Trophies; Near...

The Games :

now keep in mind this aren't the ngp lunch titles or anything, but just some of the games that were seen at the presentation :

- the ngp seems having a very strong third-party developer support, over 70 studios are working with the console full list Here
- the console will come with different version, probably with different price point, only one would have 3G functionality, Wi-Fi in other hand is available in all of them.
- Sony : "the ngp will be affordable" (we sure hope so)

Sony recently said that there will be a way to play PSP games on your PSP2. A way to convert your UMD games to the PSP2. Very nice.

Looks like Sony listened to the fans for this.

$350 - $400 is as far as I'm going.

it's sweet but I don't think I'll ever aford one at least not frist hand but lord knows I 'll be entering every comp on the net and magazines I can find this is a must own 3DS PAH! 3D is a gimmic and for the last few years that all Nintendo's been about gimmics just look at the wii fit board wii fit and Shawn whigt snow boarding (very bad game) are the only two thing that I know use it hell I got one for wife and she's ues'd it twice.
