I am sick of First Person shooters

First person shooters are why I hate This Generation of gaming.

they are the blandest video games out there with barely any game-play improvements made to them each time

The campaigns normally have a weak story, forgettable charecters, and a generic plot.

multi-player is a mess as well.
i don't hate multi-player in general, what I hate is that its now forcing other games that are non-FPS to have online.(hell Assassins Creed , uncharted, and Dead space now have multi-player for Christ sake.)

And the most annoying thing about them is the Community/FRAG HEADS!

the stupidest, blindest, most ignorant gamers out there. all they care about is guns, and online multi-player.

without those two things, the game sucks.

its because of these morons that games like FFXIII, SC: conviction, and fallout need to be toned down for the frag heads!

although, i don't absoluty hate FPS's, i just hate the community, and what they're doing to gaming.

Examples of my favorite FPS's,

Left 4 Dead

TF2

Counter-Strike

Half-Life

Borderlands

Battlefield 2/ 2142

they are great games with some great story lines, amazing community, and fun online.

I blame "Call of Duty".

I think you just basically defined COD.

I hate the modern and World War II type FPS games, I love the sci-fi ones.

Well many FPS titles try to take after Call of Duty or Halo. I would like to see more unique shooters. I think Left 4 Dead, Bioshock, and Borderlands do a good job of standing out, and Brink looks like it'll be different as well.

that list of FPS's i listed are completly unique and don't try to ripoff anything.

I hate shooters that try to copy off one another

I have only owned 2 FPS this gen and those are Killzone 2 and COD 4 but sold COD 4 so i currently own one.

I love fps just as much as i love every genre!
Fps are great, and i think Counter-Strike, Battlefield 2142 and Call of Duty 4 are some of the best games ever made.
But i agree, that a large part of the community just sucks.
I love good storys, and well told storys . I like RPG and RTS. I think only Singleplayer is just fine for a game, if its well done. But i also think the MP for Uc2 is a great addition, considering that UC2 still has the best SP ever made, and that a game without a good story can still be awesome. Super Smash Bros. or Empire Earth for example.

Im not that much of a Call of duty fanboy, even though 4 was amazing... but i cant understand why everyone blames Call of duty for everything ? You should blame the community and all the games that want to copy it, but not the game itself, because even if you dont like it, you should still be able to see the quality.

Oh and did i mention, that i never thought about getting a console last gen because i think last gen was f****** boring? Only this Gen i saw this great console exclusives, that made me want to have a Ps3...

Personally, COD 4 was an OK game.

I've always liked FPS, but ever since COD4 everyone has been coping that formula. Not that surprising since COD4 was pretty awesome. I would like to see something new, though.

Agreed. All FPS's now-a-days just try to be the next CoD or Halo and its sickening. Games like Half Life and Bioshock have made their own name and thats why they are great, not by taking after other games.
