PS3 To Outsell Xbox 360 By The End of This Year!?

Sony’s posted results for the quarter ending June 30, showing large year-on-year rises for both PS3 software and hardware, but the NPS division failed to make a profit for the period.

PS3 on the up, up, up

Global PS3 hardware sales stood at 2.4 million for the quarter, a rise of 118 percent compared to the 1.1 million sales the machine managed in the same period last year.

Worldwide PS3 hardware sales now stand at 38.1 million, and ever-closer to the global 360 total at 41.7 million.

This is pretty good considering "Gran Turismo 5" and "LittleBigPlanet 2" aren't even released yet.

I don't think so this year, the slim probably boosted the 360 sales so i say it'll comes back to 3-4 million gap, however next year 2011 M$ will be screwed

Agreed.

I think it's more likely PS3 will outsell 360 around the end of 2011. Possibly 2012.

If not this year, then most likely next year, and definitely by the end of the generation.

I'll say this year. It's hard to tell though.

The holiday season is where it all is anyways.

Hell, I'm including Little Big Planet 2 with that.

Microsoft has got two big games left this year. That leaves Sony with two and a half (DC Universe Online). Maybe even a surprise visit by The Last Guardian in early December? However, Sony is having a very medium year thus far, they're waiting patiently for 2011. That my friends, is when havoc will strike upon these poor souls

lemme rephrase myself, all the 12 year olds and under will buy it...and halo is tons bigger than gt5 and lbp2 unfortunatley, but maybe the sales of both will beat it

I'd say Gran Turismo is just as big as Halo.

In fact, Gran Turismo 3 sold more than any Halo game. That can show you how big it is.
