Which Parties?

Can someone PROPERLY define the differences?
I can, but not "properly" if you get me.

3rd party is an independant company. A company with the power to do whatever they want with their games.

2nd party is an independant company aswell, except, they are bound by a contract for a certain amount of time.

1st party is a company owned by a manufacturer, a company that can only develop for the company that owns it.

2nd party, is it when the developrs isn't owned by the manufacturer, but the manufacture own the game. like heavy rain or Halo ??


so for ps3

1st : uncharted, gow...
2nd : heavy rain (is there anything else?)
3rd : mgs4, demon's souls, yakuza...

I don't think so, unless they bought the IP after its release. The game was published by Atlus.
