Deadly Premonition

So I recently rented Deadly Premonition. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Would I appreciate the humor in it like G4 and Destructoid did, or completely trash it for the shoddy graphics and gameplay like IGN did?

Well . . . I can safely say that this game is really, really fun. The camera is lousy, the shooting is lousy, and the graphics are lousy, but the story is interesting and the dialog is fantastic. I haven't laughed at a game this hard since Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time.

The game provides so much enjoyment for such a small price. I recommend it to anyone who can overlook a few minor issues for the sake of comedic gold. So far I'd give it an 8/10.

For those of you who have played the game, what do you think of it?

I don't mind the graphics, shooting, or the camera issues. They're not terrible, just slightly bad. The story is unpredictable and goes all over the place, and the dialog is hysterical.

This is a game you shouldn't take seriously at all.

I actually might give it a rent. It seems to be one of those bad games that gets a cult following.

I'm just judging it by what you wrote of it, and if it gets 8/10 after all that flaws you listed, I don't want to know what can get a 10/10.

I'm sorry, but I do. I guess I'm the only one who cares about the gameplay aspect of games.

Besides dozens of other sites were giving it 3s,4s and 5s

Don't look at the metascore, but rather the list of reviews. For every bad review there is a good one.
