Cross Game Chat !

ok it's finally here, but I don't see this as a big thing as I have had cross game chat for ages.. Skype Tiny chat and Text chat apears only for PSN premium and will be added via Firmware 3.40 22nd June. Your thoughts ?


"PlayStation users can purchase PlayStation Plus membership through PlayStation Store on only. Users need install system software version 3.40, which will be released on June 22nd, enjoy PlayStation Plus."

So it looks like owners will be receiving a new firmware update June 22nd. It would also make sense that this would be the update which would include cross-game chat.

On Sony's official Netherlands website, this is written:

"Cross-game Voice Chat: invite your friends chat online no matter what game you're all playing, even if they aren't members of PlayStation Plus."

UPDATE: It appears all mention of voice chat has been removed from .playstation websites from other countries. We are checking with Sony see if this is a temporary removal, or if the feature is going away for good - or, we should say, before it even launched.

The feature is not even out yet and you want more lol

But yeah having voice messages would make it much faster than typing.. although I can see the downsides, Having some random kid sending you a voice message and screaming at you in MW for camping lolz (it happened to me when I had my 360 I camped once !!) but yeah it saves time

Yeah it's really bothersome when you are messaging a friend back and forth and you have to stop for two minutes to type up a message and then do it again in another two minutes, when it could take like 15 seconds through a voice message. The pros heavily outweigh the cons for voice message. And to be honest I was the one sending angry messages to other people in Gears of War 1 when they would abuse the two-piece or host lancer or something lol.

I'm game for PSN Premium. I wish XBL Silver members could play online for free, because I'd much rather pay for all of these PSN features than XBL Gold features.
