What is the point of 100 rating scales?
Why don't people just use out of 5 rating scales? Wouldn't that make more sense? I mean you're getting a basic generalization of how good a game is on an out of 5 rating scale.
Let's look at some games.
Halo 3 - 94
Killzone 2 - 91
Holy Shit a whole 3 points difference! Like what the hell does it matter? They are both top tier games.
Or look at it this way. One game gets a 51, another gets a 56. Does it really matter? Both games are trash anyways. Really unless a game is one you've been hyped about or is one you've been looking forward to if it gets lower than a 70 no one will fucking bother. Basically in these scales 7/10 of the rating scores are irrelevant.
On an out of 5 rating scale like on youtube you get the idea of how good a game is. Really I find these out of 100 rating scales retarded.

You seem to be missing that the X/5 and X/10 scores can use decimals.
Let's say game X got a 9.3/10 on review site A and game Y got a 9.1/10 from the same site, it's still the same as X/100, only difference is by decimals. Same as the X/5, only difference is by multiples of two, since you have to multiply 5 and 20 to get 100.
I personally like the letter scoring, or a non scoring system that points out the good andbad points of a game.

I don't like 5-point scales. They're too general. Two games could both receive 5/5 scores but one could completely be head-and-shoulders above the other. Also, the conversion isn't very good. Is a 2/5 seriously a 4/10? I would equate a 2/5 to a 5.5 or 6 out of 10.
But all of this is pointless. Read the reviews. Don't cheat yourself by only looking at the score.

That's more vague than even a five-point scale.EvilMrChicken wrote:I prefer ratings by grades
