How many problems have you had with your PS3?
I've had YLOD 3 times and Blu-Ray broke 2 times
But i have the original 60gb FAT launch model.

I had one YLOD, that I fixed.
My only other problem is that I haven't been able to change my avatar since I bought the U2 bundles.

My 40 gig had a disc drive failure November 2008. 11 months after I bought it. Receipt was damaged so Sony wanted to charge me $150 to fix it. I bought a 80gig w/2 year warranty in February 2009 and it's worked fine so far.

Only problem i ever had was the browser constantly freezing up way back in 2007, works fine now but i dont use it as i've got a laptop now.

Oh and the Apocalyps3, that was the longest 24 hours of my life.

I had 1 YLOD, which Sony kindly replaced for me for 150$.
I better back up my data this time incase this disaster occurs to me again.

Shitty hardware? All consoles have a failure rate. The failures you explained that you had yourself seem very unlikely. Maybe your PS3 smells some hate in the air.
