Sony Is Interested In More PS2 HD Upgrades

Sony asking users if there are any other titles they’d like to see given God of War-like HD treatment.

The blank survey asked users to fill in the games they wanted to see brought back to life on PS3.

Any upgrade to these titles would probably see them being released on Blu-Ray disc with HD graphics and a smoother framerate, allowing users to experience some of the best PS2 had to offer on their PS3.

The God of War collection was released earlier this year. It was rumoured recently that Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will make it to Blu-ray next year

Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and Team Ico, Sly Cooper, and Jack And Daxter.

What would also be cool is a developer collection. For example, a Naughty Dog collection would have every Crash Bandicoot game and every Jak game, remastered. An Insomniac collection might have every Spyro game and every R&C game (on the PS2). A Square Enix collection might have every Kingdom Hearts game on the PS2 and every FF game on the PSone and PS2.

TRF, a Final Fantasy Collection would be to big even for the Blu-Ray disc. TWELVE EFFING GAMES AND LIKE 286592734659287563275692385763245 SPIN-OFFS! But it would be AMAZING if it happened.

I was talking more along the lines of main games. Besides, not all twelve games are on Playstation consoles. I think FFIV-FFXII are all that are needed. I'm sure KH, KH2, and FF games IV to XII are able to fit on one Blu-Ray.

I see. Final Fantasy VII = in HD = Makes me the happiest man alive. Kingdom Hearts I & II would make me drool. But they need to make Kingdom Hearts III already. Its going into development after they are done with Versus. -CROSSES FINGERS FOR 2010-

Well, we can cross Sly Cooper Collection off the list since it's been confirmed.

I'd rather have them put money into new IPs or sequals, not just update the graphics on old PS2 games.

Well, they clearly are. It doesn't take THAT much effort to port a game to the PS3. Santa Monica made God of War Collection while making God of War III and that game didn't feel like it needed any more money put into it, or effort for that matter. I'm sure inFAMOUS 2 will be great even though Sucker Punch will be making Sly Cooper Collection. Assuming Team Ico Collection is real, I'm sure TLG will be great.

From what I've seen, when a studio makes an HD collection, it doesn't seem to (or won't) hinder their main project.

if they make ico and sotc, they should make a bundle with it (probably they wont) but it will sale some PS3's

Id love to see the Jak series in HD, it looked amazing on the PS2. Imagine in 1080p..

I would have also liked to see a Robot Wars: Arenas Of Destruction makeover upgraded to the PS3, with better graphics and physics etc. I doubt it will happen. But it's worth a try....

The only HD Collections to come out will be of titles owned by Sony. That means that Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Devil May Cry are most likely out of the question.
