Red Dead Redemption is a must-play game. Rockstar has taken the Western to new heights and created one of the deepest, most fun, and most gorgeous games around. You can expect the occasional bug or visual hiccup, but you can also expect a fantastic game that offers the Western experience we've all been waiting for. Red Dead Redemption is a complete game in every sense -- both the single player and multiplayer modes are excellent -- and still manages to offer an attention to detail you rarely see from a game of this scope.

9.5 Presentation
A powerful story and remarkable characters. Tons of depth, but it doesn't quite have the perfect polish that most Rockstar games exhibit.
9.5 Graphics
A few visual hiccups are the only downside to this incredible looking game. Fantastic art direction.
10 Sound
Superb voice acting and a wonderful soundtrack.
9.5 Gameplay
Great variety, great combat, and a great multiplayer mode.
10 Lasting Appeal
Online or off, there are more than enough excellent reasons to keep coming back.

OVERALL
Incredible

Why not?

Their games are filled with glitches, their characters tend to be uninteresting, the graphics and gameplay seem repetitive.

Yeah .

it looks like a western gta, focused on shooting .

and GTAIV was not as good aas the reviews and people hyped it up to be .

Right. So because Rockstar made one fluke, they are not capable of making any other good games. You do realize this is a different studio developing this game, right? Anyways, I'm psyched for it. I read G4's review earlier today. They gave it a 5/5.

It's an open-world game that's very story-driven. There are tons of side quests and a lot of stuff to do. Look up videos on it.

I've barely started scratching the surface of Red Dead and I can already tell it's going to win GOTY. It's a lot more fun then GTA4.

Rockstar is one of the best video game companies...next to EA, Ubisoft and Crytek IGN reviews Red Dead Redemption Icon_neutral
those are the only companies whos games impressed me...

Crysis
FarCry
Need For Speed
Midnight Club
Sims

Some of the best series in my opinion
But the last western game I played was GUN a few years back, never really played Red Dead...the online looks pretty cool and one of my favorite aspects of online gaming is free roam

God I wish I had money, Red Dead Revolver was epic and i knew this would be Sad Oh Woe is me

I agree, GTAIV was a big let down coming off San Andreas... Then again, most games coming into this gen were bad just because everyone was focused on ow they looked IMO I remember Resistance FOM being the only game I played for a while

Thank God cuz open world games are what I love... I love exploration, I was big into Driver when it came out
