All musicians are better when on drugs. Yeah, Eminem had some really clever rhymes back in the day. I don't mind that he has a more serious tone, but his songs are basically all the same, and his rhymes are so basic, upfront, and nonmetaphorical.

In Eminem's case I'm not so sure it's about him being on drugs, although I think he still is, I think's it's more a case of his lifestyle change. Early he had a "Don't give a fuck" attitude, as evidenced by his song, "Just Don't Give a Fuck" He writes what he feels, his first CD was directed more towards his past and his hardships that he was going through. Second CD was was directed more towards his feelings of fame and all the things that are associated with it. I didn't really listen to alot of his 3rd album, but what I did hear I liked, didn't love but liked. But all those albums he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder or that rebel mentality. I still like his new CD a lot but agree it's nowhere near The Slim Shady LP or The Marashall Mathers LP...
