Statistics published by top game developer Tose show that with 42 million the total number of PS3s sold globally have exceeded the Xbox 360 by a million units.
The statistics coe by way of a presentation by Tose (a prolific Kyoto-based game developer best known for not being known, as their games as usually credited exclusively to the company outsourcing the work to them, most often Nintendo) at the Kyoto Cross Media Experience 2010, published by Famitsu.

There's like a 95% chance PS3 will outsell 360 globally by the end of 2011. Even with the release of the Xbox Slim, Playstation is still beating it month after month.

I don't care much about sales, but it does mean more support for my favorite console. Which is always a good thing.

Only a little more support. The game is so incredibly small that no developer is going to support only one platform unless they get a ton of money from the manufacturer.

Yeah, I actually put some thought into it, and realized that it's probably an inaccurate list. I mean, c'mon, just a few weeks ago the gap was 3 million, was it not? Do you expect a console to sell that well in just a few weeks? Even the PS2 is incapable of that.

Unfortunately it was proven fake.
"There was an error in one of the slides used in the presentation," Tose stated today in an official release, adding that it was "truly sorry" for any trouble the mistake caused.
Moving forward, the company aims to be more careful and prudent with information it makes public.
