The idea of burning the PlayStation fan was an issue considered; however, Sony felt issuing a firmware update only helped retailers like GamesStop sell more copies of games Sony and other developers spent time and money making.

“The industry’s best developers are ReMastering their best games. Prince of Persia, Shadow of Colossus, and ICO are just the beginning. When fans see what Konami’s doing to the Metal Gear series, and what Square’s doing with Final Fantasy, they’re going to be very happy.”

So basically Sony have admitted Konami are working on HD versions of MGS 1-3 (Hopefully its 1-3) Or maybe only 2 and 3 seeing as MGS 1 is on PS Classics?. Either way this is just EPIC!!!

Sweet. I've never played FFX, X-2, or XII. Maybe SE can also fit a few PSone titles on the Blu-Ray as well. Hell, I don't care if the Collection is on two discs.

I'm happy, but not surprised. It would be stupid of Sony to not remaster those games. It's good to know eventually we'll get Jack & Daxer and Ratchet & Clank HD...it's just a matter of time.

I say release these PS2 classics by the droves. They more then make up for the lack of backward compatibility in my eyes.
