I think it should be like:

1. Little Big Planet
2. Bioshock
3. Mass Effect

For the first three.
LBP made a statement for all platformers EVERYWHERE.
It said, "Look at this, FPS's to biznitch."

It wasn't really the platforming elements in LBP that mad is such a hit.

It was the fact that you can design your own map using the game's own tools.

One of the few console games designed for mods.

Um? It didn't redefine the gameplay for 2.5D platformers. Thus it really didn't change the platforming genre.

I think LBP is a step forward for console gaming.

User generated content is a huge leap toward ultimate replay value in video games.

"LittleBigPlanet 2" will redefine the gameplay for 2.5D platformers Smile

In what way?

All they are doing is expanding the scale of use generated content. NOT platforming elements.

Exactly. Its actual platforming elements are nothing special, and there are games with MUCH better platforming elements. But its the level editor and user generated content that makes the game its massive success.

You said platformers though. LBP doesn't really raise the bar for platforming.

I think LBP is a step up for console games, hence why it is only second to the best western sci-fi RPG I've played this gen Smile.

The actual platforming in LBP is average at best, and the 2.5D segments are pretty iffy.
